First Edition. 96 pages, foreword by Professor M.C. Ricklefs, Monash University History Department, preface by author, map of area and manuscripts were sourced, introduction by author, Essay " The care and conservation of Palm-Leaf and Paper illustrated Manuscripts " by O.P. Agrawal. Coloured Illustrated frontispiece, being a reproduction of a folio " Dewa Ruci " manuscript from Java. The text is illustrated with coloured photographs and numerous black-and-white illustrations from the exhibition. Illustrated front cover being " Bhagavata Purana -- Yasoda Nursing the Child Krsna " against a white background with red and black writing on the front panel and white on the spine. A little scuffing to the book corners and the white of the background has faded a little. Bumping to the top spine edge and there is rubbing and a crease down the full length of the spine. The spine has also become quite sun faded. A catalogue put out by the National Gallery of Victoria to celebrate the " Palm-Leaf and Paper; Illustrated Manuscripts of India and South-east Asia " exhibition of 1982. This is the first Australian edition.
